A team of narcotics officers uncovered over 22 lakhs hidden in a secret room within the residence of a key disciple of Ganemulla Sanjeeva, a prominent organized crime gang leader and drug trafficker currently detained at Weerangula Police Station under detention orders according to the reports from the Ministry of Public Security.
During the house inspection, a woman and a man were present. Subsequent scrutiny of the woman’s mobile phones revealed that the money derived from drug trafficking was circulating through them. In response, narcotics officers expanded their search within the residence.
The arrested individual is a 29-year-old woman residing in the Kehelbeddara area. Authorities plan to detain the suspect on arrest warrants, and further investigations will be conducted to unveil the details of the drug network associated with this case. The discovery of hidden funds indicates the complex financial networks often linked with organized crime and drug trafficking.
