Chief Medical Officer of the Colombo Municipal Council Ruwan Wijemuni stated that PCR tests will be carried out in Colombo under the guidance of the Epidemiology Unit.

The PCR inspections in the Colombo Municipal Council area commenced on October 5 and as of today (11) 1188 tests have been carried out and 431 of them were carried out on employees of the Colombo Municipal Council, he said.
Dr. Wijemuni said that PCR tests conducted in Colombo have identified four persons infected with the Covid virus and further investigations are being carried out to find their close contacts.
