The Ministry of Health has launched an investigation into the doctors who make various statements on child malnutrition.

The Ministry of Health has taken steps to conduct a special investigation into the government medical practitioners who talk about child malnutrition.

According to sources, Health Secretary Janaka Sri Chandragupta has assigned a group of high officials of the Ministry of Health to conduct investigative research on the doctors who talk about child malnutrition.

He further disclosed that these officials had already visited the relevant hospitals where these doctors had issued statements regarding child malnutrition. The ministry officials have subjected them to questioning.

The officials have questioned them on the basis of the various statements issued regarding child malnutrition and the accuracy of these data.

The spokesperson of the ministry added that they are looking into whether these doctors are making such statements at the request of any political party or if they are making such announcements at the behest of the UNICEF organization.

However, the Ministry of Health has recently announced that the announcement issued by UNICEF regarding child malnutrition in Sri Lanka has no basis.
