Colombo 10 records highest number of Covid deaths in Sri Lanka

Forty percent of the 200 people who have died in the past three months from the second wave of Covid 19 have died at home, health officials have said.

Accordingly, the second wave of Covid 19 which started on the October 4 has resulted in 200 deaths till January 4. The area that recorded the highest number of deaths was Colombo 10  of which 26 residents died due to Covid. Sixty of the dead were between the ages of 70-80 and the oldest victim was a 98 year old man from Kotte.

The youngest victim of coronavirus in Sri Lanka was a 20-day-old baby. The 200 deaths were reported from 11 districts.
