Leader of the Tamil Makkal Thesiya Kootani (TMTK) Party and Member of Parliament C.V Wigneswaran in a letter on July 24 has urged all Tamil political parties and voluntary organizations in the North and East to join hands to mark International Day of the Disappeared.

Wigneswaran has called for protests to be held in the North and East on August 30 to mark the day as August 31, the official day of commemoration is a working day and it is difficult to mobilize the people.

It is noteworthy that Wigneswaran has sent the letter to the leaders of the Tamil National Alliance  as well and states that the Tamil political fractions should join unconditionally in launching the struggle for the rights of the Tamil people.
