Ambanpola Police gives long chase to a car: rescues abducted Policewoman

Ambanpola Police succeeded in securing the release of a Policewoman abducted by a mob near the Ambanpola Hospital.

Police opened fire at the car after chasing it for nearly seven kilometres to bring it to a complete halt.

Police acting on information received a suspicious car was stopped near the Ambanpola hospital and was checked.

Since there had been two women passengers in the Car, Police assigned a woman officer to bring the car in question to the Police station.

But the driver, on the pretext of taking the car to the Police station, sped away at high speed past the police while the female police officer was inside the vehicle.

A police team gave chase to the vehicle for nearly seven kilometres and took steps to open fire at the car at, Nikawelayaya and stalled it.

Police had taken all the suspects into custody, including the driver and the two women.

They also found several packets of Heroin in their possession.
