A young Sri Lankan Medical professional attached to Mayo Clinic in USA claims that the large stock of medical aid he sent within 03 days from USA to Katunayake airport , has taken 12 days to transport to Colombo 32 Kilo Meters away despite severe shortage of drugs. Dr Jithma Abeykoon who is also an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Oncology at Mayo Clinic urges the President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to create an efficient system at least to bring the medical donations to Colombo from the ports and distribute it in a timely manner.

He further says in a Twitter message that
“Each and every second counts and the lives are at stake.
Find why it takes 12 days to bring needed medicine from Katunayaka to Colombo when people are dying due to lack of medicine. Report the reasons and increase awareness. I don’t want to penalize anyone, but I want the system to change for the betterment of the people.
