All Covid tests of foreign cricketers diverted to SJP from Nawaloka!

The Ministry of Health has instructed Sri Lanka Cricket to conduct PCR and antibody tests on foreign players and their staff visiting Sri Lanka from time to time at the Government Medical Faculty Laboratory, Sri Jayewardenepura.

Previously, the Nawaloka Hospital owned by Jayantha Dharmadasa, Vice President of Sri Lanka Cricket was used to conduct these PCR tests.


The Ministry of Health has instructed to Sri Lanka Cricket that all international cricketers and other support staff visiting Sri Lanka should undergo PCR and antibody testing on the 1st and 3rd and the day before the match and that the samples should be submitted to the Sri Jayewardenepura Hospital Laboratory under the supervision of Specialist Dr. Chandima Jeewandara.

It is also recommended to pay Rs. 7500 for a PCR test sent to the Sri Jayewardenepura Laboratory and Rs. 5000 for an antibody test
