Dayasiri Jayasekara, State Minister and General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party is preparing to contest for the post of Chief Minister of the North Western Provincial Council in the forthcoming Provincial Council elections under an alliance led by Sri Lanka Freedom Party.
Minister Jayasekara told Lankasara that he has received proposals for this and that he hopes to contest for the post of Chief Minister of the North Western Province from the future alliance formed by the Sri Lanka Freedom Party.
The Minister of State further stated that a number of successful discussions have taken place regarding the formation of a new alliance with the Sri Lanka Freedom Party and that he is committed to the Sri Lanka Freedom Party with that broad alliance. The Minister of State further stated that he is even ready to sacrifice his ministerial and parliamentary posts for the sake of his party , SLFP.
