Sri Lankan all-rounder Dunith Wellalage, who returned home during the Asia Cup following the sudden death of his father (Suranga Wellalage), is set to rejoin the national team tomorrow (20).
In a statement, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) confirmed that Wellalage will depart for the United Arab Emirates tonight (19), after paying his final respects to his late father.
Wellalage, accompanied by Team Manager Mahinda Halangoda, flew back to Colombo earlier today upon receiving the news of his father’s passing.
Sri Lanka is scheduled to face Bangladesh tomorrow (20) in the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup T20 tournament.
