The Colombo Magistrate’s Court today (12) ordered the release of former Minister Rajitha Senaratne, who had been in remand custody on allegations of corruption.
Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanka S. Bodaragama granted bail after considering submissions made by officials of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) and the defense counsel.
Senaratne was released on a cash bail of Rs. 50,000 along with two sureties of Rs. 2 million each. The court also imposed a travel ban preventing the former minister from leaving the country.
