The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Jakarta, together with the SriLankan Airlines Country Office in Jakarta and Jetwing Travels (Pvt) Ltd, hosted a successful tourism promotion event at the Embassy premises on 27 August 2025.
The initiative aimed at raising awareness among Indonesian travelers about Sri Lanka’s attractions and travel opportunities drew forty participants, including tour operators, travel associations, media representatives, well-wishers, and enthusiasts of Sri Lankan culture and cuisine.
Chargé d’Affaires (a.i.) Nilanthi K. Pelawaththage warmly welcomed the audience, setting the tone for an engaging session. SriLankan Airlines Country Manager, Prathap Balakrishnan, and Jetwing Travels (Pvt) Ltd Manager, Sarath Bandarawattha, delivered detailed presentations on travel packages and highlighted Sri Lanka’s diverse and vibrant tourism landscape.
An interactive Q&A session conducted in Bahasa Indonesia allowed participants to seek clarifications and discuss practical travel-related matters. The event concluded on an optimistic note, with organizers expressing hopes of welcoming more Indonesian tourists to Sri Lanka.
Guests enjoyed an authentic Sri Lankan lunch, while each participant received a token of appreciation as a memento of the occasion.
