The Colombo District Court has issued an injunction against YouTuber Sudantha Thilakasiri. The injunction was issued in connection with a case filed by the Diyawadana Nilame of the Sri Dalada Maligawa, Kandy, Pradeep Nilanga Dela, through his lawyers at the Colombo District Court.
The court order applies to both defendants in the case – Sudantha Thilakasiri and Damith Nuwan Kodithuwakku Arachchige. According to the injunction, they are prohibited from publishing any news or statements, either directly or indirectly, that are defamatory towards the plaintiff, Pradeep Nilanga Dela. They are also prohibited from carrying out any kind of defamatory activity against him.
Furthermore, the injunction bans the posting of such defamatory material on the YouTube channels operated by the defendants.
Attorneys Rasika Dissanayake, Asanka Dayanath, and Cherag Nilgiriya appeared on behalf of the plaintiff, Pradeep Nilanga Dela.
