The Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy, along with the Malwatta and Asgiri Maha Viharayas, donated Rs. 15 million to support those affected by the massive earthquake last week.
Yesterday (02) evening, at the Sri Dalada Maligawa, the Maha Thero, Anunayake Theros, and the Sangha, led by the Maha Thero, conducted a Pirith sermon to invoke blessings for the people of Myanmar and offered prayers for those who lost their lives in the disaster.
The Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Myanmar attended the event, where the Asgiri Maha Thero and Diyawadana Nilame Pradeep Nilanga Dela personally handed over the donation to the Ambassador.
