The Sri Lankan health authorities have launched a unique vaccination campaign to protect people involved in food-related businesses from Typhoid Fever.
According to the Ministry of Health, everyone engaged in food production, transportation, or sales must get the Typhoid vaccine immediately. This includes all individuals handling food as part of their profession or livelihood.
Those involved are requested to visit their nearest Medical Officer of Health (MOH) office without delay. They must meet the Public Health Inspector (PHI) and get the vaccine to ensure the safety of the public and prevent the spread of Typhoid Fever.
The health authorities strongly urge the food industry workers to support this important health initiative.
