Former Director of the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD), Assistant Superintendent of Police Neville Silva, has been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
According to police reports, he was taken into custody at the Police Field Force Headquarters.
The arrest follows an investigation conducted by the Crime Suppression Department in response to a complaint lodged at the Colombo Crimes Division. The investigation revealed that the Assistant Superintendent of Police was involved in offenses related to kidnapping and abetting the forcible seizure of property.
The Police Media Spokesperson confirmed these findings, leading to Silva’s arrest. He is scheduled to be presented before the Ratnapura Magistrate tomorrow.
