Israel’s National Security Council has issued an urgent notice today, advising all Israelis currently on Sri Lanka’s beaches, including the popular Arugam Bay area, to leave immediately due to security concerns, reports *The Times of Israel*.
This advisory followed a warning from the US Embassy in Sri Lanka, which cautioned US citizens against traveling to Sri Lanka’s east coast, including Arugam Bay, citing credible information about a potential attack.
The Security Council also advised Israelis to either leave Sri Lanka or relocate to the capital, Colombo, where there is a stronger presence of local security forces. Israelis are urged to hide their nationality and avoid displaying any signs that could identify them as Israeli.
Additionally, they are advised to delay any further travel within the country and avoid large gatherings. Israeli authorities have confirmed they are in close contact with Sri Lankan officials regarding the situation.
