As the conflict in the Middle East escalates, particularly in Lebanon, Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has advised all Sri Lankans living and working in the region to pay close attention to the safety instructions provided regularly by the Sri Lankan missions in their respective countries.
Given the significant number of Sri Lankans employed in the region, necessary measures to ensure their safety and security are already being implemented through the Sri Lankan missions. The Foreign Ministry has emphasized that these missions will continue to provide regular safety updates. In light of this, Sri Lankans residing in the Middle East are urged to adhere to these instructions and act accordingly to safeguard themselves.
Additionally, relatives of those working and living in the Middle East may contact the Consular Affairs Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for information about their loved ones in case of emergencies. The division can be reached at the following numbers: 011–2338812 or 011–7711194.
