A Grade 11 student from Colombo International School, living in Colombo 03, tragically fell to her death from the Lotus Tower around 3:30 PM on Monday, according to police sources.
Her shoes and school bag were found on the deck. Initial investigations by Maradana Police, along with CCTV footage from the tower, showed the girl jumping from the 29th floor, suggesting it may have been a suicide.
This incident follows a similar tragedy from a few months ago, where two students from the same school died after jumping from the Altair flats in Colombo 02. The police have recovered the girl’s body and sent it to the National Hospital in Colombo for further examination. Investigations are ongoing.
