With a day left for the presidential election, former minister Basil Rajapaksa, the founder of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, left for Dubai early Friday (20). According to the sources, he left for Dubai on Emirates Airline flight EK 659 from Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport at 3.05 AM, and from there he will travel to America.
The former minister had entered through the Gold Route special entry of the Airport and was traveling alone. Mr. Rajapaksa, along with former state minister DV Chanaka, MP Sanjeeva Edachirimanna, and Jayanatha Katagoda have also arrived at the port.
He also played a pivotal role in the election campaign of Namal Rajapaksa, who is contesting this presidential election from the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna.
