The Wadduwa police have reported the arrest of a 17-year-old student from a prominent school and her 30-year-old boyfriend at Wadduwa beach for possession of the drug ‘ice’.

According to the police, both suspects reside in the Wadduwa area. Acting on a tip-off, law enforcement officers apprehended the couple at Pohaddaramulla Beach, Wadduwa, where they were found in possession of 20 milligrams of ice drug and drinking paraphernalia.

During interrogation, the teenage girl revealed that she was carrying the drugs while returning home from a private tutoring class in Horana.

To ascertain whether the suspects are addicted to drugs, they will undergo examination by a forensic medical officer before being presented to the Panadura Magistrate Court.
