Former Police Officer Who Ran a YouTube Channel Revealing Police Corruption Targeted in Shooting Incident

Earlier today (02), an unidentified gunman fired shots at the residence of Wimal Jayasekara, a former police officer known for operating a YouTube channel exposing police corruption, illegal activities, and underworld behavior.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the shooting, although the house sustained damage from the gunfire.

A senior official from the Southern Province confirmed to Lankasara that a specialized police team has been dispatched to investigate the incident.

This incident comes amidst a backdrop of frequent shootings being reported, prompting concerns about escalating violence.

In response, the Inspector General of Police emphasized today (02) that the current period marks the final stages of the underworld’s reign. He likened the situation to a lamp burning brightly just before it is extinguished, indicating a forthcoming crackdown on criminal activities.
