The Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court has ordered the remand of Dr. Saman Ratnayake, the Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Health, until Monday (04), following his arrest by the CID yesterday (01) night.

Appearing before the Maligakanda court today (02), he received the remand order.

During the court proceedings yesterday (01), Additional Solicitor General Lakmini Girihagama asserted that Dr. Ratnayake was accountable for the disappearance of original files related to the controversial Immunoglobulin vaccine case. Subsequently, Ratnayake presented himself to the CID yesterday (01) afternoon, where he provided a statement for a duration of nine hours before being placed under arrest by the authorities.
