A 33-year-old woman, the owner of the school canteen, residing in Galabedda Alapotha has filed a complaint with the Dombagahawela police alleging that the principal of Monaragala Galabedda Maha Vidyalaya sexually assaulted her.
According to the complaint, the incident occurred yesterday (29) when the woman closed the canteen and returned home. Subsequently, a school teacher informed her that the lights in the canteen were still on, prompting her to return to the school premises around 3:40 pm to turn off the lights.
The complaint states that while she was in the process of closing the doors and preparing to leave, the 53-year-old principal called her to his office and allegedly sexually assaulted her.
The Dombagahawela police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
