The 18-year-old son of Anandan Krishnan, a wealthy businessman originally from Jaffna, Sri Lanka, who had built a massive business empire in Malaysia, has renounced his inheritance and chosen the path of a monk.
Anandan Krishnan, who has resided in Malaysia for around four decades, amassed a fortune estimated to be around 40,000 crore rupees. He owned various businesses, including gas stations, a telephone network, a television company, and a satellite system.
The son, named Ajahn Sri Panyo, born in Malaysia, was slated to inherit this substantial business portfolio. However, he decided to relinquish all worldly possessions and pursue a monastic life.
Upon his ordination, Ajahn Sri Panyo expressed his intention to join the Tao Dum monastery in Thailand and dedicate himself to religious activities.
