Tamil Nadu Police Arrest Two with 67 kg of Ice En Route from Manipur to Thalaimannar

Yesterday (23) evening, the Tamil Nadu Police arrested two suspects along with a 67 kg stock of ice (methamphetamine) valued at around ten crore rupees. The drugs were intended to be transported from Manipur, India, to Thalaimannar via Chennai.

The detained individuals include a businessman from Jaffna and another from Tamil Nadu, India. According to the suspects’ statements to the Tamil Nadu Police, the drug stock was brought to the Manipur region of India by a boat from Myanmar.

Acting on information, the Tamil Nadu Police intercepted the consignment as it was ready to be transported from Manipur to Thalaimannar. The drugs were seized during the operation.

Officers from the Customs Department of the Indian Central Government, along with the TRI Agency, have traveled to Tamil Nadu to investigate the case further.
