US star Jason Derulo is facing allegations of sexual harassment in a legal case initiated by Emaza Gibson, a singer formerly signed to his record label.

Gibson, who had been offered a recording contract with Derulo’s imprint, is suing the star, accusing him of ending their working relationship after she rejected his sexual advances. The legal action includes claims of quid pro quo sexual harassment, breach of contract, intimidation, and violence.

Gibson alleges that Derulo persistently pressured her to socialize with him and explicitly demanded sexual favors in exchange for career success. She also claims that Derulo mentioned a bizarre “sex ritual” involving a goat sacrifice and cocaine.

Additionally, she alleges that she was plied with excessive alcohol. Gibson’s lawyer, Ron Zambrano, describes Derulo’s behavior as “despicable” and accuses him of making threats and illegal sexual advances towards the young artist.

Jason Derulo has vehemently denied the allegations, calling them “completely false and hurtful.” In a statement posted on his Instagram account, he expresses his commitment to supporting individuals pursuing their dreams and condemns all forms of harassment. He further mentions being deeply offended by the “defamatory allegations.”

Emaza Gibson is seeking damages for unpaid wages, loss of earnings, deferred compensation, emotional distress, and employment benefits.

The lawsuit names not only Derulo but also his manager Frank Harris, Atlantic Records, RCA Records, and Derulo’s Future History imprint—a joint venture with RCA. The legal proceedings will determine the outcome of these serious allegations.
