The RHS Chelsea Flower Show witnessed a delightful surprise as the Princess of Wales graced the event, held at the Royal Hospital Chelsea and hosted by the Royal Horticultural Society. Accompanied by a gathering of enthusiastic pupils from ten primary schools in London, the Princess joined the inaugural Children’s Picnic.

While it was expected of her to make appearances as the Princess of Wales and future Queen, sources at the venue revealed that the Princess thoroughly enjoyed engaging with the children and discussing the positive effects of gardening. Despite the event’s primary focus on horticulture, the curious young minds couldn’t resist asking questions about the Royal lifestyle.

When asked what it feels like to live as a royal, the Princess cleverly responded, “You have to work hard, but you know the best thing about it is meeting kiddies like you” Bringing the conversation back to the topic at hand, she inquired about the children’s knowledge of flowers, plants, and gardening, emphasizing the importance of gardening and the serenity it brings

She was questioned by another kid about what the actually Royal family does.

The Children’s Picnic, which is expected to become an annual tradition, was inspired by a conversation the Princess had with the RHS during her previous visit in 2019. On that occasion, she unveiled her Back to Nature Garden and expressed her desire to involve more children in such events.

Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, aged 41, received praise from attendees of the Chelsea Flower Show for her presence and interaction with the children.
