The hearing of 39 petitions filed in the Supreme Court regarding the 20th Amendment to the Constitution will continue today (05).
That is before Chief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya, Justices Buwaneka Aluvihare, Sisira de Abrew, Priyantha Jayawardena and Vijith Malalgoda.
Out of the 39 petitions filed against the draft bill, the Supreme Court allowed the lawyers and petitioners of 37 to present their facts before the courts. However, petitioners of two petitions were not allowed to present facts before the court as the warrants had not been submitted correctly to the Speaker of the parliament.
