UNHRC sends a Human Rights report on Sri Lanka tomorrow

UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet’s comprehensive review report on human rights of Sri Lanka will be forwarded to the Sri Lankan government tomorrow, UN diplomatic sources said.

According to the sources the UNHRC seeks the review and comments on this report prepared by the Sri Lankan High Commission ahead of the UN Human Rights Council on February 28.

The discussion on this report and the responses to it will be held on March 3 at the UN Human Rights Council.

There will be no referendum on this issue this time around, and the sources say that a new resolution on Sri Lanka will be tabled at the UN Human Rights Council next September.
