The majestic tusker, Subahu, who graced the country’s natural landscapes has died after becoming ensnared in an electric cable set up for hunting wild animals according to reports from Anamaduwa Police.
The lifeless body of Subahu was discovered near a residence in the Vembuwewa area.
Subahu was an imposing figure, standing at approximately 10 feet tall, and he boasted a majestic pair of tusks measuring about 3 feet in length.
Authorities have identified two individuals suspected of involvement in the incident that led to the elephant’s death and are currently conducting investigations to apprehend them.
