Sri Lanka reported the lowest number of dengue cases in a single month, with 5,189 cases reported in August.
According to the Department of Epidemiology, a total of 62,029 dengue cases have been reported in the country in 2023 as of today (01).
The district with the highest number of reported cases is Colombo, with 13,187 patients. Furthermore, the Western Province has the highest number of cases by province, with 30,271 reported cases.
Tragically, there have been 38 dengue-related deaths reported since January 2023.
The Epidemiology Division has identified 27 high-risk dengue health officer office areas and continues to monitor and manage the dengue situation in the country.
