Sri Lanka is safe from Tsunami after Sumatra’s earthquake

The National Tsunami Early Warning Centre (NTEWC) said today evening that  6.8 magnitude earthquake  occurred in the Indian Ocean has no threat to Sri Lanka.

NTEWC said the earthquake occurred deep in the South of Sumatra today at 7.07 p.m.

The center has contacted relevant national and international agencies to asses the incident and declared Sri Lanka is safe.
