The Sri Lankan Embassy in Lebanon, in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), has successfully arranged the evacuation of 55 vulnerable Sri Lankan workers from Lebanon.
As part of the initiative, the latest group of 26 workers arrived in Colombo on the evening of December 4, 2024. This marks a significant effort to ensure the safety of Sri Lankan nationals amidst ongoing tensions in Lebanon.
The embassy expressed its gratitude to the IOM in Lebanon for its crucial support in facilitating these evacuations and reaffirmed its commitment to assisting Sri Lankans in need. Plans are in place to continue such collaborative efforts to aid those most affected by the crisis.
The embassy’s proactive measures underscore its dedication to safeguarding the welfare of Sri Lankan citizens abroad during challenging times.
