If a person is infected with the Covid 19 virus and the dengue virus at the same time, such patients will be referred to a specialized treatment center at the IDH Hospital,Dr. Aruna Jayasekara, Director of the Dengue Eradication Program said.

The director said that the unit was a treatment center for dengue patients and that patients who were infected with the Covid virus but did not show symptoms would be transferred to other hospitals so that there would not be much congestion in the hospital.
The Director also requested the public to keep the mosquito breeding grounds clean as the number of dengue patients is likely to increase in the future with the monsoon rains.
