Raviraj and a group of her relatives have commenced a protest before the statue of her husband in Jaffna from yesterday (08) and has begun launching a series of allegations against the TNA, its leader, and its MPs.

Following the assassination of Nadarajah Raviraj, a former TNA MP, his wife lived a quiet life and the TNA had taken steps to field her through the TNA this time.

Her family claims as her popularity increased three TNA MPs from Jaffna had attempted to block her and that they were supported by the TNA leader R. Sampanthan.

She has been alleging that she had received the second most number of preferential votes and however three TNA MPs tried to intimidate her and create a ruckus. She also said she, her daughter, and other supporters were driven away from the counting center. Shasikala said the party only fielded her to complete the necessary female representation in the nomination list.

She further stated that she will continue to protest against TNA for this injustice done to her.
