The Ministry of Education takes action to train teachers to provide sex education to students.
The Ministry of Education has decided to start training teachers at the National Colleges of Education to teach sex education to students from this year onwards.
The Ministry of Education has taken this decision with the recommendation made by the Parliamentary Forum for Children that children should be given sex education right from preschool.
Though books with syllabi are easily accessible, the ministry has primarily concentrated on the need to give teachers specialised training regarding the teaching of sex education.
The Ministry of Education has claimed that they are trying to transform the National Colleges of Education into degree-awarding institutions from this year onwards, and accordingly, the Ministry states that a revision of the curriculum will also be carried out.
