He told the CID that not only the Senior DIG in charge of the Western Province, Deshabandu Tennakoon, but also the DIGs, Senior Superintendents of Police who are responsible for Colobo security were inside Temple Trees in the morning to prevent any officer from leaving Temple Trees. That there was no prior preparation.

He has pointed out that those who had come to Temple Trees by bus had stopped around the Beira Lake and entered Temple Trees through the entrance to the Temple Trees which opens to Perahera Mawatha.

However, he had pointed out that when there were so many high ranking police officers inside Temple Trees, the group had been sent out in a manner that could directly lead to a clash at the entrance to Temple Trees, Galle Road. He has also reportedly pointed out that this situation is not a coincidence.

He further stated that although outsiders had access to Temple Trees using lists of names with national identity cards, they had observed that there was no formal document of anyone who had been present at the scene of the crime on May 09.
