Heavy police security has been deployed at and around the Mattala Mahinda Rajapaksa International Airport since this morning Lankasara reporters say. Police teams have been brought to the area and are currently stationed there.
When inquired about this, a senior police officer said that the emergency security had been deployed at the airport following information received regarding a terrorist attack. Although this information was not verified, a senior police officer told Lankasara that the security was tightened as a precautionary measure.
