Members of the public are now allowed to view the Kataragama Esala Perehera according to the Basnayake Nilame of the Ruhunu Maha Kataragama Devalaya Dilruwan Rajapaksa. According to him, devotees were allowed to view the annual Ruhunu Maha Kataragama Perahera from yesterday (07).
Rajapaska said the decision was made on request of Chief Adhikarana Sanganayake of Ruhunu Magampattu Most Ven. Kapugama Saranathissa Thera and the former Basnayake Nilame Shashendra Rajapaksa.The Perahera festival started on July 2.
