Prasanna Ranatunga says that the date has also been assigned for the December meeting of the Gampaha district as one in a series of meetings “Mahinda Samagaa Nagitimu”, but he will not organise it.

Ranatunga points out that they should come on stage with their leaders only after doing justice to those harassed in the past. They should also organise village-level meetings in order to eliminate misconceptions among grass-root supporters.

Minister Prasanna Ranatunga, who says that he would have voted in favour of the 22nd constitutional amendment if he was in Sri Lanka, says that it is the personal opinion of SLPP General Secretary Sagara Kariyawasam to say that he (Ranatunga) would not have voted for the 22nd constitutional amendment if there was a clause related to the abolition of dual citizenship.

“At present, 99 per cent of their party members say that Ranil Wickremesinghe should continue as President”

Prasanna Ranatunga also believes it is possible to hold an election in alliance with the United National Party.
