Protesters say the spread of coronavirus in the north could escalate again as people from outside the country are now gathering in one place to march for several days at a time when coronavirus is spreading across the north.

Protesters also accused Tamil and Muslim politicians and their supporters of not caring about the North when about 12,000 Tamils and Muslims in the north were quarantined recently.

Protesters in front of the old bus stand in Vavuniya also said that a large number of Tamils protesting against the government has been hired by Tamil politicians in the North and East, and were inciting hatred against the entire Tamil community in Sri Lanka.
