A Jaffna District Coordinator of the ruling National People’s Power (NPP) Party and his father were attacked with swords early this morning (11).
According to police, a group of individuals armed with swords arrived at their residence in the Thumbala area of Point Pedro, Jaffna, around 2 a.m., attacked, and they have fled the scene.
Both the coordinator and his father sustained cut injuries and were admitted to the Point Pedro Hospital. Hospital sources said their condition is not serious.
The motive behind the attack has not yet been revealed. The Point Pedro Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
