The Most Venerable Naapane Premasiri Thera, the Mahanayake of the Ramanna chapter has passed away. The Thera was 98 at the time of his death. He had been receiving treatment at the Peradeniya hospital. Naapane Premasiri Thera took over as the Mahanayake of the Ramanna chapter on September 3, 2021.
