LG polls postal voting postponed ! EC announces

The Election Commission announced today (17) that the postal voting for the upcoming local government election will be postponed and will be notified later regarding the dates.
The marking of the postal vote for the local government election to be held on March 9 was scheduled to take place on the 22nd, 23rd, 24th and 28th of this month.

Election Commissioner General Saman Sri Ratnayake states that voting cannot be held on these days due to the fact that the postal ballots were not delivered on the scheduled dates as initially agreed by the Government Printer.

The Election Commission announced today that if the postal ballots are received today or tomorrow, the postal voting can be held as scheduled without a delay.
