Hanif Yusuf, one of Sri Lanka’s leading business figures, has been appointed as the Governor of the Western Province. He is the co-founder of Expo Lanka, a diversified company that began in the export sector of Sri Lanka. Yusuf played a key role in taking the company to new heights and is considered to have extensive experience in the economy.

Under Yusuf’s leadership, Expo Lanka became a publicly listed company on the Colombo Stock Exchange and later grew to become the largest company by market capitalization in Sri Lanka.

Yusuf assumed the role of Governor of the Western Province yesterday. He expressed his commitment to supporting the government, drawing inspiration from Mr. Anura Kumara Dissanayake’s plans to eradicate poverty and uplift the people of the country.

Although Yusuf admitted that he has no prior experience in politics or similar roles, he emphasized his ability to work with people and his confidence in bringing about the change the country needs. He acknowledged the challenges of eliminating bribery and corruption but promised to do his best to bring about positive change for the country.
