Lady Ridgeway Hospital again on the verge of a tragedy as it runs out with vital drugs!

Lady Ridgeway Children’s hospital,the prime hospital for children in the island is currently facing a severe medicines shortage and if it not get at least Indian aid it will have to face a very complicated crisis during September and October, Deputy Director of the hospital, Dr. Santhushitha Senapathy warns.

He further says that the Lady Ridgeway Children’s Hospital is going to face a tragedy that has never been faced in its history in the background of declining the support from donors.

According to the Deputy Director, Dr Senapathy, due to the shortage of more than 20 types of vital medicines including life-saving drugs some surgeries and treatment activities have already been severely affected.
Also there is a shortage of medicines for chronic diseases such as kidney disease, diabetes, and neurological diseases.

He also pointed out that it can be assumed that planned surgeries and certain treatments will have to be limited or stopped in the future.
