Pakistani PM Imran Khan’s visit to Sri Lanka confirmed

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan is scheduled to pay a two – day official visit to Sri Lanka on the 22nd of this month, the Foreign Ministry has confirmed.

The Prime Minister of Pakistan is scheduled to hold talks with President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and Foreign Minister Dinesh Gunawardena in Colombo during this period.

Foreign diplomatic sources say that Prime Minister Imran Khan is leading a campaign among Muslim countries to vote against the resolution to be tabled against Sri Lanka at the UN Human Rights Council in Sri Lanka.

The Geneva resolution against Sri Lanka is due to be presented to the UN Human Rights Commission on February 23.

According to these sources, he is planning to take the initiative in getting Muslim countries to support Sri Lanka during the discussion of the resolution.
