Two days ago, the inspection was done according to a tip-off given to the security forces that an Indian national who had arrived in Jaffna from India on the same ship had these gold biscuits.

Cheriyapani ship was scheduled to depart for India from Kankasanthure port at 11.30 am, but the journey was delayed by about three hours due to the full inspection of the ship.

But since nothing suspicious or illegal was found on that ship, Kankasanthure port officials took steps to send the ship away and also took steps to inform the Indian authorities about the incident.

After the Cheriyapani ship reached the port of Nagapatna in India, the ship has once again undergone a full inspection.
