The ongoing hearing of the petition filed by Sri Lanka Cricket Chairman Shammi Silva, challenging the decision to appoint an Interim Control Committee for the Sri Lanka Cricket Association by the Minister of Sports, has been adjourned until tomorrow (24). The Court of Appeal continued its consideration of the petition for the third day.
During the proceedings, Additional Solicitor General Milinda Gunathilake presented arguments on behalf of the Secretary of the Ministry of Sports. The submission of further matters was deferred to tomorrow.
Over the past two days, lawyers have presented the facts for both the petitioner party, led by Shammi Silva, and the main respondent, the Minister of Sports. Today’s session also included arguments on behalf of the Secretary of the Ministry of Sports and the Interim Control Committee.
